FAQ
Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions about Loring Pack Baskets. If you can’t find the answer to your question below, please feel free to contact us.
Q. What is a synthetic pack basket?
A. Loring Pack Baskets aren’t made from wood. They’re made from a proprietary blend of man-made material much stronger than wood. Imagine being able to use your basket throughout your lifetime and then pass it on to your kids and grandkids for them to enjoy.
Q. How long does it take to get my Loring Pack Basket after I place my order?
A. Most orders will ship within 24 hours. All orders ship out of Maine, so delivery time will vary based on the state it’s shipped to.
Q. Can I ship to a different address than mine?
A. Yes, you have the option to ship to multiple addresses within the same order.
Q. Where are Loring Pack Baskets made?
A. All of our pack baskets are handcrafted on site at our manufacturing facility in Old Town, Maine. We put a lot of care and detail into making each and every pack basket, so you know you are getting a high-quality, long-lasting product. We are proud to be one of the oldest Native American pack basket companies still using a crafting tradition passed down for generations.
Q. What is the best way to clean my Loring pack basket?
A. Since our pack baskets are waterproof, we suggest using a clean cloth and water, or you can hose it off. The coated nylon fabric liner should be hand washed with a damp cloth only as machine washing will remove the waterproof coating off the liner.
Q. What is the best way to care for my Loring pack basket?
A. Unlike wood pack baskets, our synthetic pack baskets don’t need special preservatives to be applied. Just keep it clean and make sure to keep it away from high heat sources like a wood stove, fire, electric heater, etc. as heat will disfigure the shape of the synthetic pack basket.
Q. What can I use my Loring Pack Basket for?
A. Our pack baskets are most commonly used for hiking, fishing, hunting, canoeing and trapping. We also have customers who enjoy using their Loring Pack Basket for fiddlehead gathering, agricultural harvesting, environmental restoration projects, and transporting equipment to remote areas.
